Winter Solstice 2009

The Solstice lasts for only a moment today, but many cultures recognize this time as one of great significance in the annual calendar, marking it with rituals, festivals and holidays. Birth and rebirth are common themes of these celebrations. Amidst the darkness the light emerges, bringing hope for the future.

Today's Solstice also sees Jupiter aligning with Neptune in Aquarius, bringing much needed positive energies. Never in history does it seem that humanity and the planet have had so much rapid change to deal with. It has been a challenging year for everyone on one front or another, but it is not a time to feel downcast, however insurmountable problems may seem. Signs of positive change are all around us, and we have to believe that all can come right in the end.

As we move towards the celebrations of Christmas and New Year, it is vital to hold on to the vision of a better world. Planetary karma is unfolding and a more holistic worldview is emerging, one of respect, connectivity, sustainability, and above all, love.
