Topics for talks include the following:
Facing the Future and Dealing with Change
We are living through a time of unprecedented rapid change that can result in anxiety and fear. But amidst the chaos of the present, there are reasons for hope and the opportunity for new beginnings and living life more meaningfully. Eileen Campbell shows us how to face our fears and embrace change.
^ TopLiving the Authentic Life
Living authentically means to live in accordance with your higher needs. What does your heart truly want and what is the real purpose of your life? How can you be true to yourself in a world full of illusion? Eileen Campbell offers suggestions as to how we can live a life that is truly fulfilling.
^ TopHealing Our Hearts and Lives
All too often we can feel split, separated and alienated in today’s dysfunctional society. Finding healing for our hearts and lives is a process of becoming more whole. Letting go of past hurts, developing compassion and finding courage to take responsibility for our actions – Eileen Campbell encourages us to take the first steps we need to take to transform our lives.
^ TopThe Hero’s Journey
The idea of the Hero’s Journey has its origins in the myth of Odysseus and his return to his homeland of Ithaca after the Trojan Wars, overcoming many obstacles on the way. On one level an enthralling adventure story, on a deeper level a myth for our time – it’s a powerful journey of self-discovery in which we are called upon to find the treasure of our true selves, and in doing so experience the magic of transformation. Long fascinated by the theme of the Hero’s Journey, Eileen Campbell takes us through the stages of this transforming experience.
^ TopNourishing the Soul
While we often take care of our physical and mental needs, we do not always pay as much attention to our spiritual needs. What do we need to do to feed our souls? Eileen Campbell helps us discover how silence and solitude; being in contact with nature; music, literature and art; as well as meditation and prayer – all can nourish us at a deeper level, and give us the wherewithal to withstand life’s twists and turns.
^ TopLiving Creatively
We don’t need to feel burdened by the demands of the work-place or home. For many life seems to be lived full-on 24/7 with no time for oneself and one’s deeper needs. Living creatively means living with awareness and taking the time to connect with one’s higher self. Eileen Campbell gives us pointers to enriching our lives in order to refresh and revive and restore our well-being.
^ TopMusic and Spirituality
From its earliest beginnings music was associated
with religion and spirituality. Music affects us on a physical, emotional,
psychological and spiritual level. More than a transient pleasure,
it can make life worth living, be healing, and can be a force for
good in the world.
With musical examples from both Western and Eastern traditions, Eileen
Campbell will explore the effects music can have on us, and how it
can enhance our journey of self-discovery.
Prophecy, The New Age and 2012
In all cultures from the Babylonian, to the Hindu
to the Judaeo-Christian, there exists an apocalyptic tradition that
tells of the destruction of the world and its renewal. Prophets and
psychics have also foretold the end of the world at different points
in history.
The Mayan Calendar indicates that the current age will come to an
end on 21st December 2012. What can this mean for us? Given the signs
of breakdown and dysfunction we see in our world, it is hard not to
be anxious or fearful. But Eileen Campbell shows us how, rather than
being a time of crisis, it is also a golden opportunity for breakthrough
to a new way of living and relating.
The Garden Path
Gardening is more than a hobby or interest – it’s
a way of life that affects not only our physical health but also our
emotional, psychological and spiritual well-being. It can teach us
about life, for the very qualities that make a good gardener – attention,
patience, discipline, vision, discernment, and trust – are qualities
that ultimately can help us live fulfilled lives and find peace of
mind. Day after day, as the seasons unfold and we learn how to live
in harmony with nature, we discover not only what works in the garden
but also what works in our lives.
Drawing on the work of gardeners throughout history, as well as the
writings of poets, painters, novelists, diarists and spiritual teachers,
Eileen Campbell demonstrates how gardening can be a path for spiritual
growth.
